Job Title: Commercial HVAC Service Technician Pay Scale: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on skills, experience, performance and on going training attendance. Work Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm, with 1 hour lunch; alternating on call schedule to cover 24/7 emergency service; some weekends and evenings Primary Job Function: To provide maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of commercial heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards providing the customer with a high quality experience. Provide feedback to Service Manager regarding technical training, inventory, and area needs. Reports to: Service Manager Required Qualifications: Universal EPA Certification Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints. Be familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques. Experience making repair and replace decisions. 5+ years experience working on chillers and or 25+ ton commercial HVAC equipment. Advanced customer service skills. Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility and leadership roles.

Summary We are seeking a skilled HVAC Compressor Technician to support plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems, with a focus on compressor units and chillers. This role is critical to ensuring optimal climate control and equipment performance across production facilities. The technician will work closely with maintenance and production teams to uphold safety, efficiency, and uptime standards. Responsibilities • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on HVAC systems, including compressors, chillers, air handlers, and pneumatic controls. • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in HVAC and chiller systems. • Monitor system performance and conduct inspections to identify potential failures or inefficiencies. • Support installation and commissioning of new HVAC and chiller infrastructure and upgrades. • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. • Ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety protocols. • Collaborate with production and facilities teams to minimize downtime and support operational goals. • Assist with emergency repairs and participate in on-call rotations as needed. Required Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, with a focus on compressor and chiller systems. • Familiarity with refrigerant recovery, ductwork, and control systems. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. • EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal). • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Basic computer skills for maintenance logging and reporting. Preferred Qualifications • Technical certification in HVAC or related field. • Experience with Trane, Carrier, or similar commercial HVAC and chiller systems. • Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and PLC interfaces. • Familiarity with maintenance management software (e.g., Rippling, CMMS). Work Environment • Work is performed in a production plant environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. • May require climbing ladders, working at heights, and lifting heavy equipment. • Use of PPE is mandatory in designated areas.
