The technician will work closely with maintenance and production teams to uphold safety, efficiency, and uptime standards. Responsibilities • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on HVAC systems, including compressors, chillers, air handlers, and pneumatic controls. • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in HVAC and chiller systems. • Monitor system performance and conduct inspections to identify potential failures or inefficiencies. • Support installation and commissioning of new HVAC and chiller infrastructure and upgrades. • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. • Ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety protocols. • Collaborate with production and facilities teams to minimize downtime and support operational goals. • Assist with emergency repairs and participate in on-call rotations as needed. Required Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, with a focus on compressor and chiller systems. • Familiarity with refrigerant recovery, ductwork, and control systems. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. • EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal). • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Basic computer skills for maintenance logging and reporting. Preferred Qualifications • Technical certification in HVAC or related field. • Experience with Trane, Carrier, or similar commercial HVAC and chiller systems. • Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and PLC interfaces. • Familiarity with maintenance management software (e.g., Rippling, CMMS). Work Environment • Work is performed in a production plant environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. • May require climbing ladders, working at heights, and lifting heavy equipment. • Use of PPE is mandatory in designated areas.
