About the position The HVAC/Refrigeration Supervisor at Skookum Educational Programs is a full-time, exempt position located at the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington. This role is pivotal in overseeing the maintenance, repair, and construction of HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring that all managed assets and systems operate efficiently and effectively. The supervisor will act as a technical expert, collaborating with various stakeholders, including the Shop Lead, PWD Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Reliability Engineers, to identify and resolve systemic asset issues through repairs or capital projects. In this position, the supervisor will spend approximately 25% of their time at worksites or client sites, gaining firsthand knowledge of work execution results. Responsibilities include job planning for preventive and predictive maintenance, scheduling annual preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, and managing asset alignment across all Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). The supervisor will also optimize PM and predictive maintenance plans, lead equipment commissioning efforts, and conduct condition assessments to gauge the status of key assets. Additionally, the HVAC/Refrigeration Supervisor will be responsible for conducting root cause analysis (RCA) studies, facilitating defect elimination programs, and addressing quality and service complaints.
