The Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City, NV is now hiring for an HVACR Specialist 2. HVACR Specialists are responsible for the preventative and routine maintenance of HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, exhaust fans, temperature controls and systems, and operation of building automation systems which control the HVAC systems. Incumbents must be able to sweat and/or braze fittings, tubing, and equipment, use electrical testing equipment, read schematics and blueprints, and supervise inmate workers. Incumbents make parts and material purchases and maintain inventories and maintenance records. Incumbents function as a lead worker for inmate crews on a regular basis and provide input as to their performance. Incumbents are responsible for maintaining security procedures which include securing the work area from unauthorized inmates and accountability for assigned inmates, staff, tools and equipment.
