A Day in the Life Assist & Advise: Help customers make informed product selections by asking the right questions and actively listening to their needs. Offer substitute or alternative products when appropriate and assist with basic technical inquiries. Build Relationships: Develop lasting relationships with local contractors and technicians. Recognize and greet regular customers by name, and take pride in being their trusted supplier. Continuous Learning: Stay up to date on new and existing products through ongoing training, supplier materials, and learning from experienced staff. Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow counter associates, warehouse staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and a great customer experience. Order Processing: Accurately enter sales orders, handle invoicing and payments, and manage returns and warranty claims according to company policies. Follow-Up: Provide timely updates on quotes, order status, and product availability. Communicate potential delays proactively. Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory counts. Promote overstock, sale, and discounted items when appropriate to help manage inventory turnover. Organization & Record Keeping: Ensure that records, invoices, and transactions are accurately completed. Keep the showroom organized, clean, and well-stocked for customers. Warehouse Support: Assist with receiving, stocking, and shipping inventory as needed to maintain smooth operations. What We’re Looking For • At least 2–3 years of related experience in counter sales, HVAC/R, or a customer service setting. • A high school diploma or GED required; technical or trade education preferred. • Knowledge of HVAC/R equipment, tools, and parts is a plus — we’ll train motivated candidates eager to learn. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly. • Dependable, organized, and team-oriented. • A customer-first mindset with a professional, positive attitude.
