Position: HVAC Service Technician We are seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Technician to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems. You’ll work independently, interact directly with customers, and help ensure every job is done right the first time. HVAC Technician Responsibilities: • Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment. • Maintaining and repairing pumps. • Maintaining and repairing cooling towers. • Maintaining and repairing boilers. • Identifying maintenance risks on equipment. • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems. • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing services. • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently. • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training. • Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions. • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act. • Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements. • Inspects the building, grounds, and equipment. • Handles necessary repairs and maintenance. • Installs equipment and appliances. • Follows local and state building codes. • Complies with all company safety regulations. • Keeps a maintenance log and writes shift reports. • Reports any issues to the maintenance manager or clients. • Responds to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion. • Loads and unloads equipment and tools into work vehicles if needed. • Follows written and verbal instructions from the maintenance manager or clients. • Collaborates with the maintenance team and contractors as needed. • Reads and follows manuals, blueprints, and other written instructions. • Uses equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems and provide follow-up • Work with supervisor/production to promote quality and yield improvements • Complete schedule daily work • Assist in wastewater operation when needed • Work on air compressor systems and HVAC equipment as needed • Complete necessary documentation related to completion of Work Orders and applicable PSM Elements • Any other duties as assigned Required Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent • Understanding of Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration systems • Have the Ammonia Refrigeration Systems Certification - Operator Level 1 • Able to wear a full face breathing respirator mask • Willing to be a part of the Hazmat team • Have at least 3 years industrial maintenance experience • Have a strong electrical & mechanical aptitude • Ability to read & interpret blueprints or other forms of engineering drawings • Ability to read & interpret detail blueprints, P&IDs, single-lines, ladder logic and wiring schematics • Possess an extremely strong personal safety philosophy, able to follow all safety policies & procedures, seek out & correct unsafe conditions • Ability to understand and learn Evaporative Condenser water chemistry • Able to work weekends as needed Preferred Qualifications • Computer literacy and eagerness to learn SAP/PPE systems • Maintenance experience in a food processing environment • Understanding of waste water system • HVAC System Experience • Boiler Experience • Compressed Air Systems Operating Experience • Able to effectively use typical test and calibration equipment including, RTD calibrators, digital multi-meters, 4to 20 ma calibration unit, etc. • Ability to troubleshoot 480 VAC 3-phase motor controls, 120 VAC and 24VDC control circuits Please note that this position does not include relocation reimbursement.
