Duties • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, boilers, and related HVAC equipment in commercial and residential properties. • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs. • Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards. • Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and leak repairs. • Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to test electrical components and ensure system integrity. • Repair or replace mechanical parts including motors, compressors, fans, valves, and thermostats. • Weld components as needed for equipment repair or custom modifications. • Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports for all performed tasks. • Operate a driver vehicle safely for on-site visits or equipment transport. • Assist with refrigeration systems that utilize ammonia or other refrigerants in compliance with safety regulations. • Support property maintenance activities by ensuring HVAC systems are functioning efficiently to enhance occupant comfort. • Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving HVAC/R (Refrigeration) systems or mechanical upgrades. • Follow safety protocols diligently during all field service operations to prevent accidents or injuries. Qualifications • Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or in a similar field service role within construction or property maintenance environments. • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and interpret HVAC design plans effectively. • Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. • Familiarity with plumbing systems related to HVAC installations and repairs. • Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters; ability to work with electrical schematics confidently. • Skilled in equipment repair techniques including welding and component replacement. • Experience working with boilers, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and appliance repair is preferred. • Ability to operate field service equipment safely and efficiently; valid driver’s license required. • Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team on complex projects. • Certifications in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration), plumbing or welding are advantageous but not mandatory for entry-level candidates willing to learn.
