About the position The Electrician/Electronic Technician position involves working under the general supervision of the Division Supervisor(s) to install, maintain, repair, modify, and test complex electrical and electronic equipment and systems. The role also includes performing electrical inspections and ensuring compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations. Responsibilities • Inspects electrical work and approves or disapproves based on electrical codes, standards, and regulations. , • Installs, repairs, and maintains motors, lighting, traffic light controls, heating and cooling units, communication lines, and other electrical systems and components. , • Operates a variety of testing equipment to locate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic failures/problems. , • Studies plans, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and sequences of repairs and/or installations. , • Uses blueprints and schematic drawings to plan the sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments. , • Maintains records and prepares reports. , • Performs other duties as assigned. , • Specific duties include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment and structures, as well as repairing and maintaining the electrical distribution system, motor control centers, motors, instrumentation process control, and recording devices. Requirements • Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or similar degree. , • Four (4) years of electric/electronic experience. , • Possession of an electrician's license from the state of West Virginia or the ability to acquire it within one year of employment. , • Valid driver's license.
