Electrical Engineer - III

Title: Electrical Engineer III Location: Parkersburg, WV Duration: 8 Months (Extendable/Possible temp to perm) Description: Looking for 10+ years of experience Must be local to worksite PE is a hard requirement for this role • Perform onsite field research to ascertain necessary information for single lines and floor plans of electrical devices and building electrical infrastructure o Devices include switchgears, switchboards, panels, disconnects, transformers, and electrical equipment • Take pictures of electrical devices and building electrical infrastructure • Assist with scheduling off hour and weekend shutdowns to perform work • Work will require some off hour and weekend work • Develop single lines and floor plans of electrical infrastructure and electrical devices in buildings • Perform electrical assessment of buildings • Develop electrical assessment report o Includes all necessary pictures o Link assessment to pictures to floor plans o Perform a life safety, code compliant, and deficiency assessment o Populate life safety, code compliant, and deficiencies tracking files • Label equipment with incoming volts/amp labels, fed from labels, etc. • Trace wiring • Determine overloaded circuits and conduits • Determine grounding issues • Develop panel schedules • Perform minor electrical upgrades such as adding wire nuts to exposed electrical, outlet covers, junction box covers, panel hole covers, breaker covers, etc. • Input projects into FirstEnergy’s facility database for future project planning o this person will be trained properly to do this. o OPPM needs to remain as clean as possible • Attend meetings as necessary • Provide single lines in pdf and AutoCAD format • Work with FirstEnergy engineers to perform arc flash assessment • Apply arc flash assessment labels • Take responsibility for the quality assurance and control of assigned work, including identification of quality requirements, responsibility for agreed upon quality assurance program and if required, oversee the review and approval process for contractor provided procedures • Prepare and present status reports for management. Reports entail recurring, standard reports and ad hoc reports that address status of scope, budget and schedule that identify risks and issues, and outlines mitigation strategies • Communicate goals, priorities and decisions to the Leadership Team • Partner with operating companies and other business units from conception and planning through construction and turnover. This includes obtaining concurrence (or buy-in) from affected departments to support the proposed schedule, resource requirements, and review and approval of project plans • Ensure project close-out and lessons-learned reviews are completed.
