World class lumber manufacturing facility based in Vicksburg, Mississippi. This highly skilled role creates value by performing a variety of electrical systems and maintenance duties, while ensuring maximum facility uptime to meet production goals. This position requires knowledge of and hands-on-experience with the following technologies: instrumentation, electronics, lubrication, hydraulics, power transmission, mechanics, steam, welding and pneumatics. Responsibilities: • Install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment in compliance with plant codes, policies, and procedure • Respond to all maintenance issues, both mechanical and electrical, throughout the plant • Undertake preventative maintenance program for equipment. • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to repair equipment. • Verify and document repairs made. • Work in a safe manner using proper PPE. • Work any shift, on-call, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed Required Skills: • 1 years of previous maintenance experience • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC5 and/or Control Logix • Knowledge of and experience with hand and power tools • Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge and aptitude • Experience in an industrial environment with VFDs, PLCs, MCCs, HMIs • Experience with high voltage (600-23,000 volts) • Competent with all type power transmission components and troubleshooting • Be able to pass a basic mechanical assessment test • Be able to pass a basic hands-on test • High school diploma or GED Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays as required Environmental Conditions: • Must be able to tolerate extreme hot, humid, cold, and outdoor conditions. Learn and keep current with latest revision of NEC. • Complete work in accordance with company policies and procedures. • Fulfill daily commitments and stay on project schedule as directed by job-site foreman. • Assist with loading materials, digging trenches, pulling wire through conduit, and other various tasks needed to complete project. • Treat all customers, other trades personnel, vendors, fellow workers, etc. with dignity and respect. • Keep job site clean before leaving and be kept clutter free during the work. • Complete paperwork including timecard and turn in when required. • Know, follow and hold others accountable to the safety policy, program and training of CESG. • Trouble shoots most common electrical systems including, but not limited to, services, feeders, and branch circuits. • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assemble, and installs electrical conduit. • Travel is a must. • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps. • Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels. • Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads. • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. • Repairs faulty equipment or systems. • Other duties as assigned Job Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
