Electrical Journeyman-Commercial

We are a licensed C-10 contractor and operate construction crews in various areas of CA and soon the rest of the U.S. Overview of Position • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of electrical equipment installations; • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, boxes, conduits, feeders, Panels, Commercial Switchgear up to 3000A, Transformers Disconnects and other commercial 208/480V electrical components; • Test electrical equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance; • Maintain, repair, install and test switch-gear, transformers, switchboard meters; • Communicating with clients in a professional, courteous manner at all times. • Collaborating with construction workers, plumbers, and other crew members. • Trenching for electrical underground • Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility • Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices • Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor • Use ladders, scaffolding, platform and lifts to work on electrical systems in commercial properties. • Trench and install underground PVC and overhead EMT Secondary Functions • Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; maintains confidentiality; listens to others, is proactive in resolving issues. • Written Communication - Write clearly and informatively; conscious of audience and varies writing style accordingly, able to read and interpret written requirements. • Contributes to building a positive team spirit • Time Management: Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently • Professionalism – At all times Zero Impact Builders is an equal-opportunity employer. Requisition ID # 160352 Job Category: Project / Program Management Job Level: Supervisor Business Unit: Electric Operations Work Type: Hybrid Job Location: San Jose; Oakland Position Summary The Electric Project Management leadership oversees teams of Project Managers, the workgroup may consist of all regular employees, contractors, or both and is responsible for managing electric transmission capital projects throughout the service territory. The incumbent is typically assigned to a region or area with an annual project portfolio budget. The leaders promote a safety culture and ensure staff adhere to all company and regulatory safety practices and policies. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company, in good faith, believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. A reasonable salary range is:​ Bay Area Minimum: $140,000 Bay Area Maximum: $238,000 &/OR​ California Minimum: $133,000 California Maximum: $226,000 This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. Responsibilities: • Manages the portfolio of assigned projects and ensures all projects are designed safely and constructed on time, on budget, on scope, and without adverse environmental or other regulatory impacts. • Manages and forecasts accurate project portfolio costs aligned with annual and project budget targets. • Proactively identifies and resolves project issues to ensure that projects stay on plan to meet overall cost, scope, and schedule commitments. Ensures consistency across the organization. • Works directly with client/sponsor organizations to understand the scopes of projects and make appropriate project manager assignments. Establishes specific project manager expectations, metrics, and tracking tools to measure performance. • Develop workload plans and strategies to establish balanced internal and external resource levels to support five-year plans. • Regularly meets with each project manager to review the status of assigned projects. • Works with technical Project Management teams in other departments or lines of business to effectively manage and improve the overall group's operations and processes. • Keeps abreast of best practices in project management concepts, methods, and techniques. Qualifications Minimum: • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). • Six years total relevant experience in: • technical project management or • program management in the utility industry or • business management in the utility industry OR • Three years of supervisory experience in project management, engineering, and construction of Transmission/Distribution projects. Desired: • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certified. • Leadership skills in driving work progress and improving work processes. • Electric transmission and distribution network and substation system knowledge. • Strong project management skills; knowledge of concepts, methods, and techniques. • Strong project scoping and cost estimating skills. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Influence skills. • Collaboration and interpersonal skills. • Strong MS Office skills • Knowledge of Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) Union Contract. • Financial acumen, understanding of contingency cost estimating and its use. • Skilled in negotiating and managing engineering, procurement, and construction services contracts. • Knowledge of SAP and SRM (Sourcing) systems. • Proficient with MS Project, Primavera, or other project management systems.
