New team members will need to have the following, but not limited to: • A positive Attitude and Team player is the only way we work!! • Knowledge of the National Electric Code • Manage time, materials, work orders, daily time sheets, and reports for project documentation. • Practice safety first, good communication skills, client-friendly, and excellent work ethics. • Must be able to work independently and maintain accountability of property, including tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials. • Available for occasional weekend or holiday work, should the situation arise. • Electrical Trainee or Journeyman card Applicants must be able to meet the following qualifications: First Year Apprentice - We are not accepting applications for first-year apprentices. Second Year Apprentice - 2nd Yr apprentices typically can perform the following tasks: • Ability to read the basic information presented with a plan set, specifically the lighting floor plan, power floor plan and rooftop power plan; • Layout and installation of branch circuits; • Able to coordinate proper wire and conduit sizes; • Able to bend conduit into multiple layout configurations; • Have knowledge of the various types of lights and specialty lights; • Has knowledge of how to operate common power tools including saws, threaders, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches. • Understands and demonstrates the ability to properly label circuits, wires, breakers, and cover plates. Third Year Apprentice - 3rd Year apprentices can perform all the above and in addition the following tasks: • Read the plan set in its entirety; • Able to layout and install conduit for all underslab power; • Capable of installing panels and the MDP/MSB along with installing the feeders (conduit and wire); • Knows how to wire a panel in accordance with the plan set and connect the proper circuits to the respective breakers; • Understands and able to install a full grounding/bonding system throughout the entire electrical system, must be able to demonstrate how to install an Ufer ground; • Can program lighting controllers including the time clock; • Can layout all underground work including primary/secondary feeders; • Knows and understands the 'Green Book' and the corresponding process of working with the Utility provider; • Can set light pole foundations (at least two different configurations) and knows how to build the respective jigs for proper vertical alignment of light poles; • Can operate excavators, power trenchers, vibrating plates and has the corresponding certificates including the forklift and telehandler certificates; Journeyman • Able to do all the above plus: • Understands how Commercial Level Solar Systems Operate; • Wire Motors • Understands Medium Voltage Systems • Can configure and install Fire Alarm systems, Standard Communication Systems, Data Systems and Other Alarm Systems; • Able to fully hook up generators and the corresponding alarm configurations including elevators, emergency lighting and bypasses Working Conditions - the following are typical requirements for all field team members: • Work in all weather elements including extreme heat/cold and understands the importance of hydration; • Work on all types of ladders up to 12 foot 'A' frame ladders, 32 foot extension ladders and able to carry the ladders and properly set them; • Work on ladders for extended periods of time (six hours a day at times); • At times, the field team will have to work at extended heights of up to 125 feet, must be comfortable utilizing an articulating boom or a scissor lift; • At times will work in very restricted spaces such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, manholes and switchgear rooms; • Lift weight in excess of 50 pounds without assistance; • Work must be done while wearing standard Personal Protective Equipment such as eye protection, safety helmet, long sleeve shirts and at times a respirator; • Work up to 10 hours a day. • Apprentices/Journeymen are not allowed to work on energized circuits. RRE, Inc. follows a very rigid policy and Standard Operating Procedure to measure voltage or access an energized circuit.
