TBM Electrician

The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions. We’re looking for an experienced TBM Electrician to join our tunneling team and keep our Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) powered, running, and pushing forward. This is a hands-on, industrial electrician role that supports daily mining operations, tackles downtime events with urgency, and performs regular preventative maintenance to avoid them altogether. Responsibilities • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot high-voltage electrical systems on TBMs and support equipment • Rapidly respond to downtime events to diagnose and resolve electrical failures • Perform regular preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize unplanned stoppages • Work alongside mechanical technicians, operators, and engineers to ensure continuous tunneling operations • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC control systems • Support startup, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems pre- and post-dig • Track and log equipment issues, resolutions, and improvements in real time Qualifications • 3+ years of experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in mining, tunneling, or heavy equipment • Strong understanding of low- and high-voltage systems, VFDs, and control panels • Comfortable working in underground environments and in rotating shifts • Ability to work independently under pressure and adapt in a fast-paced field environment • Experience with TBMs or other tunneling equipment strongly preferred Culture We're a team of dedicated, smart, and scrappy people.
