Who You'll Work With Industrial/Commercial Superintendents About the Position The Journeyman works out of Stansell Electric's Nashville office, assisting in all aspects of installation, alteration, demolition, maintenance and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, assemblies, and associated materials and equipment on all type of projects within the electrical construction industry. The Journeyman must show the mechanical aptitude, mathematical skills, and literacy skills commensurate to the satisfactory completion of position's primary duties and responsibilities. Advancement opportunities are available by advancing to more senior positions or through transfer to skilled trades. How You'll Make a Difference • May be called upon to perform the duties of AP4/EW4. • Supervises one to two AP's or EW's. • Has basic expertise in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installations, safety procedures, safe work practices, basic calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation, and trouble shooting. • Operates any hand tools, power tools, and equipment necessary to perform all trade associated assignments. • Can effectively communicate with peers, assistants, project supervision and other trades. • Completes single-task assignments involving all aspects of the trade via verbal and written instructions, field sketches, and blueprint reference. • Identifies all tools and materials needed for assignment. • Perform basic assignment lay-outs and preparation for installation via verbal and written instructions, field sketches, and blueprint reference. • Directs, monitors, and works alongside employees delegated to assist him/her to ensure a safe and timely completion of assignment. • Instructs assisting employees in the correct operation of tools and equipment, safe work practices, electrical principles, and applicable NEC. • Accurate completion of all assignment-related paperwork. • Troubleshoot and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment. • Perform EEW procedures up to 480 volts. • Perform metering and testing up to 480 volts. • Utilize NEC codebook as needed. • Comprehends, abides by, and enforces Stansell Electric customer policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Reports all violations to immediate supervisor. • Perform other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervision. Position Requirements Smarts, Skills. The Licensed Foreman I is responsible for supervising electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance within the commercial and industrial settings. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent work experience (8,000 hours) Travel: 60-75% Work Schedule: Between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. May vary based on customer demands and can include, but is not limited to: nights, weekends, and holidays. Is conscious of safe and unsafe acts on the jobsite and addresses and eliminates hazards accordingly. Consistently enforces and promotes workplace safety procedures (weekly toolbox talks, weekly safety audits, appropriate documentation, etc.) • Actively mentors and develops others within projects and crews. • Supports usage of Faith internal resources to include, but not limited to Excellerate, Precon, APC, Productivity, Engineering, Estimating, etc. • Maintains compliance with company policies; consults with HR and/or Workforce Managers (PM if appropriate) to ensure consistent corrective measures are taken, and documentation completed. • Demonstrates excellent customer relations through utilization of effective problem-solving techniques. • Actively participates in Faith's hiring referral and mentoring program, as appropriate. • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
