Journeyman Electrician

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical work, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems. This role requires a strong understanding of both high and low voltage systems, as well as familiarity with various hand and power tools used in the construction industry. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations meet safety standards and comply with local codes. Responsibilities • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete electrical tasks. • Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters. • Work with high voltage and low voltage systems, ensuring proper functionality and safety. • Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure seamless project completion. • Renovate existing electrical systems to enhance efficiency and safety. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical installations. • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and codes throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications • Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician or similar role in the construction industry. • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including logic controllers and circuit design. • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment. • Ability to work independently or as part of a team on construction sites. • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients. • Valid electrician's license or certification is preferred but not mandatory. Minimum Job Requirements: • Four-year college degree in electronic engineering or science discipline plus a minimum of twelve years experience; or an applicable Masters of Science degree and ten years of related experience. • Experience to include hardware development/engineering, exercising creativity in technical direction and successful strategy development. • Comfortable with communicating across disciplines in response to manufacturing and procurement matters. • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, interface with customers, subcontractors and vendors, and deal with employees and managers at all levels in manufacturing, engineering and other departments. • Ability to use typical office automation products such as word processors and spreadsheets. • Knowledge of customer needs and competing products.
