Electrical Helper

Job Title: Electrical Helper Job Description We are currently seeking skilled Panel Builders to join our team. This is a contract-to-hire position lasting 4 months, offering competitive hourly wages based on experience. The role involves building and wiring control panels, using a variety of basic hand tools and test equipment to ensure the quality and functionality of the panels. Responsibilities • Build and wire control panels using basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, hand drills, and wire cutters. • Utilize test equipment including voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters to check the quality of panels. • Fabricate and wire control panels according to schematics and blueprints. • Compare wiring and location of control devices as per specifications. • Examine wiring for loose or faulty connections, ensuring all connections are secure. • Test wiring circuits for malfunctions and identify the root cause of any issues. • Label each wire in the panel for easy identification and maintenance. Essential Skills • Mechanical inclination and aptitude. • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints. • Experience in wiring control panels and electrical assembly. • Competence in using hand tools and test equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Panel shop knowledge including processes, quality, safety, cleanliness, and organization. • Experience with control panels and hands-on electrical work. • Experience in roles such as electricians, electrician apprentices, or HVAC technicians. Work Environment The work environment is located in a very clean, quiet, and temperature-controlled facility within the old Span Tech building. Panel builders have their own work area, promoting independence and focus. All necessary hand tools are provided, and the dress code is casual, allowing jeans and tee shirts. Listening to music through headphones is encouraged while working. The shift runs from Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with mandatory Fridays currently in place after the initial two weeks of training. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glasgow, Kentucky. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
