Your Day at Lowe's As a Customer Service Associate, you will welcome customers to Lowe's and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You will interact with customers throughout the day, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. While you will spend most of your time listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, your daily responsibilities may vary by department. Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Key Responsibilities • Welcome customers to Lowe's, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service. • Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise • Down stock merchandise by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies • Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time • Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service • Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds) • Guide customers through shopping or checkout • Complete other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications • 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information • 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets • Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction) • Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties • Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation Preferred Qualifications • 6 months of Retail and/or customer service experience • Bi-lingual skills • Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials) Lowe's commitment to growth and teamwork extends to the community as well.
