City of Crossville Maintenance Worker/Electrician-Street Department Normal hours of operation are Monday - Thursday, 6:00AM-4:30PM Starting hourly rate of pay is $18.25. Eligible for 5% salary increase after 6 months. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Operates a bucket truck or aerial lift in routine maintenance, repair and construction of traffic signals. • Performs electrical wiring of City projects including streetlights and traffic signals. • Performs trouble shooting and repair of electrical equipment controlling traffic signals. • Operates and installs computer aided traffic counters for obtaining traffic study data. • Formats, assembles and installs a variety of street signs. • Works as part of a crew to install, repair and maintain all aspects of City streets, sidewalks, storm drains, catch basins and right of ways. • Uses a variety of trucks, small machinery, hand tools and power tools. • Performs flagging duties for traffic control when work is being conducted. • Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of facilities, trucks and equipment. REQUIRED ABILITIES • Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment as required for job. • Requires demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience in multi-craft maintenance and repair. • Working knowledge of electrical wiring and electricity. • Requires strong physical stamina and performs heavy manual work for extended periods of time. • Ability to operate a variety of light and heavy equipment. • Required to pass an employment background check, physical and drug/alcohol screening. MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma, or equivalent • L.L.E.
