An Electrician II should possess, at a minimum, a high school degree or GED, supplemented by the completion of a standard electrical training course and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the electrical field, or any equivalent combination of education and field experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Low voltage wiring and fire alarm systems experience is a plus. Necessary Special Requirements: • Possess a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B with no air brake restrictions, or the ability to obtain this license by the end of the six (6) month probationary period. • Must be available for 24-hour emergency call response as needed. • Must be comfortable and able to work at heights, ladders, lift equipment, and bucket trucks. An Electrician I & II must be knowledgeable of the following principles, procedures, and concepts. • Knowledge of basic electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles as applied to electrical systems. • Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, equipment, and practices in the electrical trade. • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the electrical trade. • Basic working knowledge of personal computers. • The ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings. • The ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. • The ability to apply training and prior experience to electrical systems maintenance. • The ability to analyze, isolate, and correct problems in electrical systems. • Apply skill in the care and use of vehicles, tools, and equipment of the electrical trade. • The ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and members of the general public.
