Skilled Carpenter

CMM & Environmental Job Description Title: Skilled Carpenter Date: April 2025 FLSA: Non-Exempt Supervisor: Construction Manager General Statement: The Skilled Carpenter position is for an individual who can complete the finishing touches on trim and carpentry work for different construction and manufacturing projects. You may work on a variety of projects, framing, decking, window and stair customizations, crown molding, and baseboard installations. In addition to finish carpentry you will also install windows and doors. Installation of siding and wrapping doors with aluminum is a must as well. Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform finish and trim carpentry work according to plans and specifications • Measure, cut, and install various fixtures and millwork for doors, windows, ceiling panels, staircases, decking, furniture, etc. • Erect scaffolding or ladders as needed • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes • Demo and install drywall including mudding, taping and painting. • Install new construction and/or replacement windows. • Install new or replacement doors. • Install vinyl siding and all siding related components, including wrapping windows and doors with aluminum. • Prepare construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment • Follow instructions and use tools and equipment to complete daily tasks • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner • Comply with safety standards and use of PPE • Collaborate with other employees to complete projects • Troubleshoot and repair issues with building components and equipment • Follow established regulations and advocate for safety on each worksite • Prepare wood structures for finishing by shaping and trimming with hand or power tools • Take measurements to develop suitable layout for a fixture • Carry out measurement and installation of wooden floorings, windows, and doors • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: • High School Diploma (or equivalent) • Completion of a finish carpentry program or at least one year carpentry experience • IDPH Lead Abatement Worker Certification/License (or willing to obtain) • Lead RRP Certification (or willing to obtain) Experience/Abilities Include: • Blueprint and plan reading skills • Able to use common hand tools, power tools, and carpentry trade tools • Able to work independently, and with team members, and function within a team environment. Any combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.
