Lead Carpenter

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to oversee carpentry work on our construction projects. This role involves hands-on carpentry, supervising crew members, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship, and coordinating with project managers to keep projects on schedule and within scope. Responsibilities • Perform advanced carpentry tasks including framing, finishing, installation, and repairs • Lead and supervise carpentry crews, assigning daily tasks and providing technical guidance • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and construction documents • Ensure accuracy, quality, and craftsmanship in all carpentry work • Maintain a safe and organized job site and enforce company safety standards • Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment needs with project managers • Monitor project progress and communicate updates, issues, or delays • Train and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices • Work closely with subcontractors, inspectors, and other trades to ensure seamless workflow • Troubleshoot problems, propose solutions, and ensure work meets specifications Experience • 5+ years of professional carpentry experience (lead or foreman experience preferred) • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings • Proficiency with power tools and equipment; ability to maintain tools properly • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality workmanship • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Physical Requirements • Ability to stand, climb, kneel, lift, and perform physical labor throughout the workday • Capable of lifting 50+ pounds routinely • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions Pay: $ $36.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • Paid time off Experience: • Construction: 5 years (Required) Location: • Janesville, WI Preferred) Work Location: In person
