Astoria based General Contractor is seeking a Carpenter, who will perform varies tasks involving physical labor on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in framing, finishing, and general carpentry work, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. This position requires working closely with site supervisors and project managers to complete construction projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Responsibilities, but are not limited to: • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood, metal, and other materials according to project requirements. • Install framing, doors, windows, stairs, flooring, trim, and other structural or finish elements. • Use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently. • Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and other trades to ensure work aligns with project timelines and specifications. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. • Perform layout, formwork, and rough carpentry for concrete or framing work as needed. • Troubleshoot and identify issues in construction or installation and make necessary adjustments or repairs. • Assist with material handling, unloading deliveries, and inventory management of carpentry materials and supplies. • Follow all company policies and safety procedures, including the use of PPE. Requirement(s): • 40HR SST Certificate • 4HR Flagger Certificate • 4HR Scaffold Certificate • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions • Able to work independently as well as part of an effective team • Attention to detail • Punctual and reliable • Must be physically able to perform heavy construction work. Work Hours: Monday- Friday from 7AM – 3:30 PM (typical); Saturdays and Sundays if necessary. These hours may change due to weather conditions or job schedules. Reporting Relationship: The Carpenter will get direction and must follow instructions given by the Foreman or Superintendent. Additional direction may come from the Workforce Manager.
