Job Summary Builds, repairs and maintains various facility structures such as furniture, equipment, partitions and other components of the hospital buildings, using hand and power tools according to accepted trade practices and written and oral instructions. · Review and understand blue prints, building plans & specifications, sketches, schematics and determines materials required to complete the project. Understands applicable building codes to ensure project meets all requirements · Reviews projects and provides estimates (cost, supplies, materials, etc.) to complete the work. Works within established processes to ensure correct materials are ordered · Installs/builds/tears down various materials to meet the project specifications. May include foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, counters, work stations, partitions, doors, glass windows, trim and molding, hardware repairs and locksmithing. Ensures all work is completed to meet applicable codes, standards and plans · Repair worn and broken wooden furniture using hand and power tools · Ability to measure for and hang doors, door closures and various types of hardware. Able to fabricate and install counters, built-ins and desks. · Various floor repairs, cove base and Acrovyn installations. Wall bumper and handrail repairs and installations.
