Overview We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction, with a strong focus on installation and finishing work. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is capable of working independently and as part of a team on construction sites. The Carpenter will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed to high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities • Perform skilled carpentry tasks including door hanging, siding installation, cabinetry, and tile work with precision and attention to detail. • Interpret and execute construction plans and blueprints to ensure all work meets design specifications and local codes. • Utilize hand and power tools effectively and ensure team members are using tools safely and correctly. • Ensure all installations are plumb, level, square, and built to spec, performing quality checks throughout the project. • Apply caulking, sealants, and finishing materials to deliver a professional, polished final product. • Oversee daily job site operations and delegate tasks to laborers and apprentices to ensure efficient workflow. • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors to maintain clear communication and avoid delays. • Anticipate material and labor needs, communicate shortages, and ensure job sites are properly stocked. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite; enforce safety practices and correct violations promptly. • Troubleshoot construction issues, provide solutions on the fly, and adjust plans as needed to keep projects on track. • Mentor and train junior carpenters and apprentices, providing guidance and support to develop their skills. • Monitor and report job progress to management, addressing any concerns or changes to project scope or schedule. Qualifications • Proven experience as a lead Carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry. • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools. • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements. • Familiarity with construction site safety practices and regulations. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks throughout the day.
