Job Summary About the Role: A private ranch in Okeechobee, FL is seeking a skilled and versatile Handyman/Carpenter to join our maintenance team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their craft and enjoys working on a variety of projects across a well-maintained ranch property. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing general repairs, carpentry, and upkeep across multiple structures and outdoor areas, ensuring the property remains functional, safe, and aesthetically maintained. Key Responsibilities: • Perform a wide range of general maintenance and repair tasks including carpentry, drywall, painting, fencing, and minor plumbing and electrical work. • Construct, repair, and maintain ranch infrastructure including decks, gates, barns, sheds, cabinetry, and other wood or composite structures. • Assist with renovation and remodeling projects as needed, from framing to finish work. • Conduct routine inspections of buildings and structures to identify needed repairs or improvements. • Install and repair doors, windows, locks, trim, baseboards, and hardware. • Maintain proper inventory of tools, equipment, and materials; coordinate with the Property Manager for procurement. • Ensure all work is completed in a timely, professional, and code-compliant manner. • Operate power tools, hand tools, and machinery safely and responsibly. • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and provide support for other trade teams when necessary. Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in general maintenance and carpentry. • Proficiency in residential/light commercial carpentry techniques, including framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, and outdoor structures. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess and complete repairs independently. • Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and basic HVAC systems is a plus. • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. • Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record. • Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills. Preferred Skills: • Experience working on large private estates, farms, or ranches. • Electrical or masonry knowledge a plus. • Familiarity with blueprints and technical drawings.
