Job Title: Construction Specialist Overview In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the construction process while ensuring a safe working environment. This includes reviewing job task hazards, providing training to contractors, and conducting on-site reviews of their work. Key Responsibilities: • Review HASP submissions from contractors to identify potential hazards and mitigation plans. • Ensure contractors have adequate training for tasks being performed. • Conduct regular on-site visits to review contractor work and provide written summaries of gaps and issues. • Develop and implement corrective actions for identified gaps. • Stop work when conditions exist that could result in a significant injury or fatality. • Facilitate daily job briefs. • Couch contractors' employees and subs on proper PPE usage. • Participate in incident investigations. • Support project delivery and management staff with safety and environmental questions. • Coordinate with emergency service organizations. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines covering safety, health, and environmental aspects. • Incident investigation (RCA) trained. • Knowledge of power generation, transmission systems, renewables, and components. • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently. • Knowledge of workplace hazards for construction, electric utility, transmission substations, and rights-of-way.
