Quality Control Manager

Full-time Description Job Title: Quality Control Manager Location: Project Sites at Fort Drum, New York Reports To: Chief Operating Officer Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to ensure that all construction work on our military projects meets or exceeds the required quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP) and will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, quality control principles, and military specifications. Responsibilities: • Maintain the existing Project-Specific Quality Control Plan (QCP) in accordance with contract documents, military standards (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC), and company policies. • Conduct regular inspections and audits of ongoing construction activities to ensure compliance with the QCP, contract specifications, drawings, and applicable codes. • Identify and document deficiencies, non-conformances, and potential quality issues. • Implement and track corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues effectively. • Maintain detailed and accurate quality control records, including inspection reports, testing results, and certifications. • Coordinate and oversee third-party testing and inspections as required by the contract. • Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, superintendents, subcontractors, and client representatives regarding quality control matters. • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections for all definable features of work. • Verify that all materials and equipment incorporated into the project meet specified requirements. • Ensure that testing and commissioning activities are performed and documented in accordance with the QCP. • Participate in pre-construction meetings, quality control meetings, and other project-related meetings. • Provide quality control training and guidance to project team members and subcontractors. • Monitor subcontractor quality control programs and ensure their compliance with the overall project QCP. • Review and approve subcontractor submittals related to quality. • Assist in the development and implementation of lessons learned to improve future project quality. • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and promote a culture of quality and safety on the project site. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: • An accredited Associate's Degree (AS) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. • A minimum of five (5) years of specialized experience as a Project/Job Inspector or Quality Control Specialist in a construction environment, with demonstrated experience on multiple projects valued at over $1 million each annually. OR • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Project/Job Inspector or Quality Control Specialist in a construction environment, with demonstrated experience on multiple projects valued at over $1 million each annually. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. • Certifications such as CQM-C (Construction Quality Management for Contractors), ICC (International Code Council) certifications, or other relevant quality control certifications. • Experience working on military construction projects (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC). • Familiarity with government quality control processes and documentation requirements. • Proficiency in using quality control software and documentation systems. Skills and Abilities: • Thorough understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes. • Strong knowledge of quality control principles and practices. • Ability to interpret contract documents, specifications, and drawings. • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). • Ability to physically navigate construction sites, including climbing, bending, and lifting. Physical Requirements: • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions and navigate construction sites with uneven terrain. • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). • May require occasional lifting and carrying of materials and equipment.

Ensure work-site cleanup. • Complete and submit all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. • Keep supervisor well-informed of activities, results, and potential problems. • Maintain vehicle and vehicle inventory as prescribed. Requirements • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • Less than 1 year of relevant work experience. • A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy. • Basic competency in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades. • Ability to provide basic tools and equipment necessary to perform daily duties. • Basic familiarity with computers and tablets. • Solid customer service skills. • Ability to read and write in English, in order to understand basic instructions and take direction from supervisors. • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work. • This position is located at a federal facility.
