Purcell Construction is currently seeking Commercial Carpenters to work on our current and future projects. The successful applicants will have an understanding of commercial construction trades, practices, procedures and will be skilled in the use of tools, equipment and materials necessary to assist Site Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and/or Foreman in carrying out their duties and other projects as assigned. : Job requires ability to climb ladders, crawl for distances, work in confined areas, lift and manipulate heavy objects. Candidate must possess physical strength and agility needed to perform strenuous manual labor such as: • Be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours in a given day. • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. unassisted to your waist. • Have the ability to step up a 19-inch rise without assistance. Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions and organize assigned tasks for completion alone or with help. Working conditions include restricted movement, extreme temperatures, working on buildings and/or scaffolding at heights over 15 feet above the ground and climbing ladders for heights up to 30 feet. Skilled Commercial Carpenter is expected to have the ability to perform the following tasks: • Erect and dismantle concrete formwork and scaffolding. • General wall and roof framing and sheathing. • Exterior siding, trim and roofing. • Install of standing and running trim. • Install of cabinetry, doors and hardware. • Operate woodworking machines and tools such as power saws, drills, and planers. • General knowledge of Building Codes. • At least three (3) years’ experience as a Carpenter. : High school education or equivalent. Valid driver’s license is required, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus (please be sure to note CDL in your application).
