Job Description: Superior Building Solutions is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our growing team in Marquette, MI. As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing and performing carpentry work on a variety of residential and commercial projects from the ground up. You will work on projects of all phases, from framing and structural work to finishing and trim. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and motivated carpenter with a strong background in all aspects of carpentry, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering quality results. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage carpentry projects, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. • Perform all aspects of carpentry work, including framing, drywall, trim, window/door installation, and finish work. • Supervise and mentor a team of carpenters and other tradespeople, ensuring tasks are completed on time and in accordance with project specifications. • Coordinate with project managers, other trades, and subcontractors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met. • Ensure that all safety protocols are followed and that the worksite is safe and organized. • Provide hands-on assistance in the field as needed, especially during critical phases of the project. • Ensure accurate measurements and cuts, and make adjustments as necessary to meet specifications. • Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure the work aligns with the overall design and requirements. • Maintain a clean, efficient, and organized job site, ensuring that tools and materials are properly managed. • Communicate effectively with clients and provide updates on project status when needed. Qualifications: • 5+ years of carpentry experience , with a proven track record of completing projects from start to finish. • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and best practices, including framing, trim work, drywall, and finish carpentry. • Previous experience leading and managing a team of carpenters or other construction workers. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other project documents. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
