Job Description As a Lead Framing Carpenter, you will oversee all aspects of framing for residential construction projects. You will lead a team of carpenters, ensure adherence to blueprints and specifications, and maintain a safe, efficient job site. This role combines hands-on carpentry expertise with leadership responsibilities to deliver projects on time and to the highest standards.Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise framing crews in constructing walls, floors, roofs, and other structural components. Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications to ensure accurate execution. Perform hands-on framing tasks, including layout, cutting, and installation of wood framing Ensure compliance with MI building codes, OSHA safety standards, Mentor and train apprentice carpenters, fostering skill development and a strong team dynamic. Maintain job site organization, including tools, equipment, and materials. Identify and resolve construction challenges to keep projects on track. Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and other trades on-site. Qualifications: 5+ years of framing carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Expertise in framing techniques and proficiency with tools such as circular saws, nail guns, and laser levels. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents. Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations. Proven leadership and team management skills with a focus on quality and safety. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions. OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred but not required.
