Position Summary We’re seeking a full-time Skilled Carpenter to join our team for both residential remodeling and new construction projects. This position involves all phases of construction — from framing and finish work to cabinetry, millwork, and detailed punch lists. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently or as part of a crew and is committed to maintaining high standards on every job site. Responsibilities • Perform rough and finish carpentry, including framing, siding, doors, trim, cabinetry, and flooring • Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specs • Work closely with project managers, lead carpenters, and subcontractors to complete tasks on time • Maintain a clean and organized job site • Ensure work is done safely, accurately, and up to NorthStar standards • Communicate clearly with homeowners when on site Requirements • 3+ years of experience in residential carpentry (remodeling or new construction) • Strong knowledge of tools, materials, and construction methods. • Solid understanding of local building codes and industry best practices • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, detail-oriented craftsmanship • Willingness to be held accountable for quality, accuracy, and jobsite performance • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license • Must be punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or with a team • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders/lifts as needed What We Offer • Competitive hourly pay based on experience • Paid holidays and vacation • Consistent, year-round work • Opportunity for growth into Lead Carpenter or Foreman roles • Company vehicle and tools provided for use during workdays • Positive, team-driven work culture • High-end, meaningful projects you’ll be proud of Physical Requirements • Lift up to 60-75 pounds frequently during an 8-10 hour shift. • Bend, stoop, push, and pull in a work environment for up to an 10 hour work shift. Job Title: Carpenter III Classification: Hourly/Overtime Eligible – Full Time Reports To: Senior Site Superintendent OBJECTIVE Experienced and reliable utilitarian with the ability to perform all facets of construction in a fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Advanced knowledge/skills in every facet of construction • Maintain clean project sites and work areas as needed • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and shop drawings • Efficient and safe use of power tools, measuring and cutting of materials • Ability to make various cuts to different millwork pieces to fit properly • Occasional forklift operations • Install molding/ trim of windows, doors, crown molding, mantels, and other various ornamental pieces • Install cabinetry if needed • Complete various putty & paint touch ups • Read and comprehend various punch list items and complete punch list items to meet schedule requirements. • Work closely with Site Superintendent and Framing Foreman to coordinate materials & tools needed to complete various framing, siding, & finish carpentry tasks to stay on schedule • Other duties as assigned Requirements: Education and Experience Required: • High school graduate or GED equivalent is required • Must have valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from the job site • Must have 4+ years of experience in residential construction including framing, siding, and finish trim carpentry • Ability to maintain excellent attendance record • Advanced understanding of building materials • Able to follow all company and OSHA safety rules and regulations • Ability to work in a team environment and individually based on specific job requirements • Ability to problem solve • Excellent communications skills • Ability to work at various heights Preferred: • OSHA 10/30 certification • Telehandler and/or Genie certification • Technical diploma in residential building or completion of apprenticeship preferred Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time • Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting/turning, crouching, crawling • Ability to climb, work on and carry a ladder • Comfortable working at various heights WORK ENVIRONMENT This position involves working in all climates as well as multi-story buildings on an active construction site. This role routinely is exposed to dust and noise associated with saws and power tools. Special Requirements: This position requires regular in-state travel with the ability to work 45 - 50 hours per week Monday – Friday, with occasional hours outside of that range as business necessitates. This position may require overnight stay near job sites regularly.
