The ideal candidate will have experience in various construction and remodeling tasks. The ability to operate various pieces of grading equipment is a strong plus as well. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to solve problems and think critically. Expectations and Overview • Perform all duties related to a variety of carpentry tasks for new construction, home repairs and remodels. • Ensure high quality work and timely completion of projects. • Conduct regular maintenance checks on tools to ensure safe operation. • Must have reliable transportation, valid drivers license and ability to show up on time consistently. • Experience is preferred but we are willing to teach as well. • Must have a strong desire to learn and willingness to take direction from others. • Ability to operate skid steer, excavator and other heavy equipment preferred. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Complete rough carpentry work, site logistical work, fencing, deck and platform building, protection systems, construction waste areas, and jobsite cleanup. Shape or cut materials to specified measurements. Erect scaffolding and ladders, as needed. Install structures and fixtures including but not limited to windows, frames, floorings, trim, and hardware. Review jobsite needs with superintendents and foremen, and coordinates construction. Estimate, inventory, monitor, and request time, staff, materials, and equipment needed to complete work. Operate equipment such as forklifts, backhoe, skid steer, excavator, compactor, and construction hoist. Assist with the overall site safety and quality programs as required (including daily participation in Pre-Task Plans) and ensure Trade employees/subcontractors compliance with Turner standards and all applicable safety codes, regulations, and jobsite security. Inspect all tools and power tools before use to ensure they are in safe and working condition. Comply with written safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers. Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees. Ability to travel and accommodate night and weekend work as needed. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Display a high level of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations.
