Skilled Carpenter JAG Construction is a custom builder in Asheville, North Carolina, best known for crafting quality green homes. Our project managers, contractors, and vendors have rich backgrounds and are all passionate about green building. JAG is currently looking to fill a Skilled Carpenter position for our custom renovation team. This position is a hands-on site focused role and will be responsible for the following: Carpenter Responsibilities: • Communicating with Project Manager in order to determine the time frames and budgets within which projects should be completed. • Performing all carpentry duties required, including both rough and finish carpentry. • Maintaining accurate time and material records of all work done. Requirements: • High school diploma or GED. • Reliable Transportation (Truck) • Valid driver's license. • Proven experience in residential remodeling and construction. • Sound knowledge of safety standards and procedures. • The ability to safely operate power tools. • Excellent time management skills. • Effective communication skills. Position Summary: We are seeking a multi-crafted carpenter to work at local factories and businesses. The job may require working overtime some weekends. The right candidate will work closely with project supervision to help complete multiple projects in a safe productive manner. The right candidate will have the ability to construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, and metal framing, plywood, drywall and wallboard. Must have the ability to understand blueprints, sketches, or building plans. Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, door frames, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware, such as locks, and kick plates. Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembly structures above ground and other duties as assigned. While the primary duty of this position is Carpentry, Haynes Industrial is an industrial maintenance company - our craftsman must work in multiple disciplines for our industrial customers. Our people will become skilled multi-craftsman. Requirements: • Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. • Must have a valid drivers license. • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools (example: powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.) • Proven experience as a carpenter. • Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials. • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction. • Ability to read drawings and technical documents.
