Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Carpenter Helper to join our team. In this role, you will assist experienced carpenters in various construction and remodeling projects, contributing to the successful completion of tasks while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of carpentry practices and a willingness to learn and grow within the construction industry. Responsibilities • Assist in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard. • Support carpenters in measuring, cutting, and shaping materials according to specifications. • Help with the installation of cabinets, doors, windows, and other fixtures. • Participate in framing, trim carpentry, roofing, and siding projects as needed. • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. • Read blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements. • Perform heavy lifting as required during various tasks on-site. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety. • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion. Qualifications • Previous experience in construction or carpentry is preferred but not mandatory. • Familiarity with construction estimating, blueprint reading, and various carpentry techniques is advantageous. • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment relevant to carpentry work. • Knowledge of plastering, caulking, plumbing, electrical work, flooring installation, tile laying, cabinet installation, door hanging, metal stud framing, CNC operation, assembly tasks, mold remediation, water damage restoration, and restoration industry practices is a plus. • Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) for extended periods. • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment. • A valid driver's license may be required for transportation to job sites.
