Meadors Inc. has an opening for a Carpenter to join our Estate Management and Maintenance Workshop. The Carpenter will supervise and work collaboratively with a helper. Meadors is a design-build firm located in Charleston, SC that specializes in custom high-end residential and light commercial work. We focus on both historic preservation/restoration and new construction. We are comprised of six workshops—Architecture, Construction, Conservation and Preservation Planning, Design Services, Cabinetry & Millwork, and Estate Management & Maintenance. Please submit your cover letter and resume to: info@meadorsinc.com Qualifications • High School Diploma or General Education Degree • Minimum of 5 Years of high-end carpentry experience • Must possess a valid driver’s license • Have proper fundamental Carpenter tools • Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills (in English) • Comfortable using ladders and scaffolding • Demonstrated ability to operate hand, air, and power tools • Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly • Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition • Install, maintain, and repair a variety of products, ranging from insulation to tile to drywall • Perform work in accordance with safety and best practices • Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools • Document repairs and maintain thorough records • Measure and mark materials for alterations • Ability to speak to clients politely, and represent Meadors positively
See More Details >>Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform carpentry task with the highest quality of craftsmanship in the time allotted. • Be able to understand blueprint drawings and written specifications. • Assisting Lead Carpenter with project layout, planning installation and managing material, tools and equipment. • Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials. • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the Lead Carpenter and clients • Maintain jobsite safety, protection and maintenance of company tools • Maintain a safe and clean jobsite • Always act in a manner as to represent the principles of R3 Construction • Adhere to smoke-free worksites • Hold themselves accountable for their work performance, actions, and appearance • Always dress in R3 Construction provided uniform • Be responsible for the production of projects in accordance to the plans and specifications or as directed by the Lead Carpenter. · Maintain daily logs and end of the day photos in Buildertrend. · Clock in / out daily and log in /out for breaks each day in Buildertrend. Physical Demands: Employees may be required to stand or walk over 75% of the time. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling may be required. Lifting up to 100 lbs. Must meet vision requirements to obtain driver’s license. Work Environment: Working in wet or humid conditions may be required. Working near moving mechanical parts. Working in high or precarious places may be required. Fumes or airborne particles may be present at worksites. Employees may work in outdoor conditions.
