Position Description Perform any combination of various basic tasks associated with the operation of the custom metal fabrication shop and do so in a safe and quality manner with the best quality possible. Primary duties will include preparing shop for upcoming projects, assisting with fabrication shop tasks as directed, unloading and loading material, and cleaning work areas. Job Responsibilities • Work closely with Shop Superintendent, Fabricators, and Fabrication Shop Helpers to ensure daily and project related production needs are met safely and efficiently by assisting with various tasks. • Safely and efficiently operates all fabrication shop equipment such as mechanical shears, press brakes, rollers, ironworkers, drill presses, saws, and forklifts. • Takes direction and effectively communicates with supervisors based on project needs. • Thinks creatively and applies results to safely and efficiently complete tasks. • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. • Maintains work area in clean and tidy manner. • Other duties as may be assigned.
