Carpenter/Handyman

Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills. This is a Safety Sensitive position. Must have an acceptable MVR. Key Responsibilities: • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door/wall repair, & masonry repairs. • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures. • Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage issues. • Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs and upgrades. • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs. • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly. • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof. • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries. • Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped. • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs. • Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs & changing air filters. Position Requirements: • Ability to perform strenuous tasks with your hands. • Experience using hand tools and electrical tools. • Ability to kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials. • Ability to measure accurately and read specifications. • Plumbing, carpentry or electrical certifications preferred but not required. • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: • Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area. • PPE must comply with site specific requirements. • Occasional lifting may be required up to 75 lbs. • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping. • Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload. • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. • The work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that are typically associated with a construction project. • Employees regularly work near heavy equipment and moving machinery. • Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete. Job Type: Full-time, Hourly Compensation: • Starting at $19 - $23 per hour, DOE. Commercial Lead Finish Carpenter - Millwork/Cabinets/Trim -Traveling Position

Description: We are a leader in Millwork, Cabinet and Fixture Installations seeking experienced and enthusiastic working Lead Finish Carpenters who can perform in a diverse range of situations overseeing and installing fixtures, casework and millwork in commercial and retail environments. “We have traveling positions available. One (1) year minimum supervisory experience. Certification(s): OSHA10 or 30, Forklift, aerial lift (Company will provide if necessary). Technology: Able to download and use APPS on phone and mobile devices. Able to make electronic submissions though company portal. Physical Demands: Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, work from an aerial lift. Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting and squatting. Work with materials over your head for short durations. Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Must be able to pass a Drug Screening, Criminal Background Check and MVR screening for approved driving status. Must be able to complete a Company Sponsored CPR/First Aid Training course online. Available to work overtime as needed. Our typical workweek is 40 to 60 hours. Be flexible to work non-conventional shifts when required (some overnight projects may occur). Able to travel and be away from home for durations from 2-8 weeks depending on our contract. Carpenter - Commercial Construction

Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is looking for a Carpenter who will thrive in our company. The Carpenter is responsible for constructing wood-based products, layouts, installations, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures such as buildings and fixtures. They must comply with local building codes, and health and safety regulations. The Carpenter reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent. Responsibilities: • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements. • Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes. • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures. • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed. • Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements. • Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items. • Lay out flooring, roofing or drywall ensuring they are level and compatible. • Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items and install them where designated. • Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance. • Build scaffolding and other construction structures. Minimum Qualifications: • At least three (3) years of carpentry, construction, and hardware experience. • Must have experience installing doors and hardware on commercial construction projects. • Good communication skills. • Knowledge of basic mathematics. • Ability to take accurate measurements using and reading tape measures. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. • Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment safely. • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test. • Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Baldwin & Shell standards and processes.
