Assembly Technicians - Carpentry Focus

Craftsmen Contractors is looking to hire Assembly Technicians for a manufacturing facility in the Minden, La. area. These are temp to permanent positions for the right candidates. You will need to pass a criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug screen prior to being hired. Day shifts from Monday thru Friday and will have to work every other Saturday. Full time position. Weekly pay by direct deposit. Pay rate: $14 - $20/hr. depending on experience Job Duties: • Read blueprints to determine placement of carpentry components in building. • Assist in cutting wall paneling and other carpentry components with various saws. • Install various wall/ ceiling paneling with glues and fasteners. • Install molding and related trim materials to interior of building with fasteners and hand or power tools. • Perform other tasks as assigned by crew leader or supervisor. • Ensure that work area and buildings are clean and free of debris. • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Job Requirements: • Have at least 1 - 2 years of some basic carpentry experience. • Ability to stoop, crouch, and kneel to apply paneling and to work overhead. • Ability to ascend, descend and work overhead from a ladder and stand for long periods of time • Ability to use various hand and power tools and to lift up to 50 lbs. when moving materials on the job. • Maintain satisfactory working relationships and interact effectively with all levels of employees. • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications. • Demonstrate basic math skills, mechanical aptitude read a tape measure. • Read a tape measure and read blueprints, communicate effectively, have good judgment and attention to detail. • Have to pass a criminal background check, drug screen and must do a face to face interview before being hired. • High school diploma or GED required. We are seeking workers with some basic carpentry skills. Needing workers who can perform multiple routine or semi-complex tasks with little or no supervision.
