Maintenance - Carpenter

Position Type: Maintenance Date Posted: 7/17/2025 Location: Maintenance Job Description Maintenance - Carpenter Conway Public School District Qualifications: • High school or general education diploma • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds or more • Ability to climb all ladder sizes • Ability to do routine walking, bending, and carrying of heavy items • Experience in building maintenance and construction • Basic knowledge of all building systems Reports to: Maintenance supervisor Supervises: Not applicable Terms of Employment: The contract length will be 240 days. Evaluation: Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the maintenance supervisor. Job Goal: The Maintenance - Carpenter will endeavor to maintain the school facilities and grounds. The Maintenance - Carpenter will establish a knowledge of maintaining building systems and grounds to provide a safe and pleasant learning environment for all students and staff. Performance Responsibilities: • Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures. • Maintains facilities building systems, to include: • Roof inspection and repair. • Door hardware inspection and repair. • Inspection and repair of floor coverings. • Rough and finish carpentry. • Construction and installation of millwork. • Forming, pouring, and finishing of concrete. • Operating of construction equipment and hand tools. • Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance • Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) • Maintains and uses the District work order system and District forms. • Follows all Material Safety Data Sheet directions on all chemical products used by the Conway Public School District; uses proper labeling and follows all safety procedures. • Willing to assist with other assignments given by the maintenance supervisor. • Ability to work and communicate with other Conway Public School District personnel and students. • Other duties, as assigned. Commercial Concrete Carpenter

Commercial Concrete Carpenter General Description: Responsible for performing a variety of carpentry tasks associated with prepping, pouring, placing, and finishing of concrete. Tasks include erecting and setting forms for concrete structures, foundations, buildings, and site work per specifications and drawings. This may include concrete tilt-wall forms, symon forms and/or structural forms for columns, decks, elevator cores, parking garages and other cast-in-place concrete structures. Responsibilities: • Ability to read and understand drawings and prints. • Build and/or assemble wood or metal forms for the construction of concrete floors, slabs, walls, columns, tilt-walls, elevated concrete slabs, elevator cores, stairways, etc. • Set and place forms to proper elevations and locations and may aid in installing reinforcing steel. • Set and erect forms using a wide variety of materials and forming systems, primarily symon forms. • Verify accuracy of structures using a plumb bob, carpenters level, laser and/or digital transit. • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level. • Communicate with Foreman, Riding Boss, or Project Manager regarding any problems arising, materials required, or any safety hazards identified. • Ensure equipment is all in safe working condition. • May help signal concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring. • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety policies and guidelines. • Assist with placement of concrete as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned.
