BendTec, LLC has an exciting opportunity available for a Welder to be an integral part of our Fabrication team. WHAT YOU’LL DO: • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts. • Remove rough spots from work pieces using portable grinders, hand files or scrapers. • Feather or remove tacks using electric or pneumatic grinders prior to welding beading pass. • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag or spatter using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders or arc-cutting equipment. • Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions. • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, submerged arc welding and shielded metal arc. • All welding on non-critical piping assemblies, structural and architectural assemblies, and any other non-high pressured piping assemblies. • Non-production welding such as the attachment of holding legs and hydro test caps. • Cleanup work area often and after every shift. • Produce quality product as required by customer specifications and regulation requirements. • Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies and regulations. EOE Job Description: A welder II is a worker who has welding training and can assemble, erect, and replace parts of standard and custom machines as manufactured by the Employer. Key Responsibilities: • Read and interpret simple to moderately complex technical drawings and specifications. • Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded as required. • Prepare materials using manually operated grinding and buffing tools. • Set up, assemble, and tack weld parts. • Assist in constructing special fixtures as needed. • Perform gas and electric welding of any type and size (GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick), & GMAW (MIG or wire drive). • Build up worn or defective surfaces. • Clean and grind parts and weld joints as required. • Use burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape. • Operate hand and machine tools as required for proper fitting and assembly. • Ensure high-quality and efficient production while thoroughly inspecting work for defects. • Ability to crate/skid machines. • Perform other related duties as assigned, based on skills and capabilities. • Work with Engineering and Production teams to modify parts and drawings as required. • Maintain a safe and clean work environment. • Participate in production and team meetings as necessary. Job Requirements: • Associates degree or equivalent experience • 0-3 years of related work experience, preferably in a machine shop environment, with experience in welding, sheet metal work, metal finishing, machine tool operation, and assembly. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. • Ability to provide guidance or training to coworkers, contractors, customers, or vendors when requested by management. • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently. • Team player with the ability to work independently when required. • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software • Knowledge of precision measurement tools and instruments. Physical Demands/Working Conditions: • Work is performed on the shop floor. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. • Frequent use of the phone and computer. • High attention to detail is required. • Occasional travel may be necessary. Welder - 1st Shift

Responsibilities • Fabricate, fit, and cut to meet blueprint standards • Perform GMAW and/or FCAW welding by using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment • Trim, file, grind, sand, deburr, buff and smooth surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools • Operate and understand all equipment within the work area (cell) • Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material applying knowledge of shop math and layout techniques • Inspect assembly/components for conformance of specifications • Read and interpret schematics (blueprints) and work orders • Use basic hand tools such as tape measurer and specialty equipment • Perform rework as required • Maintain daily time records and any additional required records/documentation • Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives. May participate in continuous improvement events • Move to other work areas to support production needs (cross-train) • Effectively train new/current associates • Follow established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures, and practices to include proper use and care of PPE • Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment • Shows commitment to Altec core values Basic Qualifications Applicants must: • be able to provide a high school diploma/GED. • have the ability to read, write, and comprehend. • have basic computer usage knowledge. • have the ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics. • have a welding tech degree/certificate or 2+ years of applicable welding experience - may consider if degree in process. • obtain AWS D.1.1 weld certification within three months of hire.
