Welders/Fitters Fabricators - Urgently Hiring

Welders/Fitters Fabricators (Mandatory drug screening upon hire) Wages Start $16 to $22 dollars an hour depending on experience. Fabricators daily tasks will include following appropriate safety guidelines, layout, cutting, fit-up, and welding of structural and miscellaneous steel from approved shop drawings that correspond to internal procedures and job specific requirements. This position requires the operation of an all-terrain forklift and an overhead crane. Daily Tasks/Responsibilities • Review technical plans(blueprints) drawn by architects, engineers, and steel detailers • Layout dimensions using tape measure and fit parts as per drawings or instructions • Fabricate structural shapes per drawings or instruction by shop manager • Using machinery in a safe manner to, move, cut, clean, and organize steel parts • Use oxy/fuel or plasma torches for cutting and coping material • Use CNC and Saws to burn, cut, and drill material • Comply with inhouse procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area • Shooting studs and deformed bar anchors to steel components • Lifting and guiding components into position with cranes and other equipment • Using basic computer skills for tracking and traceability of materials • Use a tablet to access the appropriate information needed to perform job-specific activities • Verify traceability marks, match nestings, and notify when discrepancies are found • Maintain and monitor individual parts to produce a high-quality product. • Maintain tools and equipment • Preventing damage to property, buildings, and equipment • Having a positive mental attitude at the jobsites and shop • Operating an all-terrain Fork Lift and an overhead crane safely • Help with loading and unloading trucks with inventory when necessary • Follow safety and operating procedures carefully • Other duties may be required and will be assigned by the Shop Foreman Skills/Abilities Needed to Preform Work • 1 Year of fabrication shop experience is (preferred) • Have welding knowledge of AWS D1.1 and be able to certified in FCAW 3G • Read a tape measure down to a 1/16th of an inch • Read and understand design and shop drawings aka blue prints • General knowledge of: Grinders, Wire Wheels, Steel Band Saws, Squares, Plasma Cutters • Basic Computer knowledge to enter data in Excel and Google Sheets • Operate all-terrain forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks • Knowledge of CNC machines a plus Soft Skills Needed to Perform Work • Enjoyment in being outdoors • Desire to build long-term work relationships • Willingness to work over 40 hours a week if needed to meet schedules • Adaptability within the workplace • Ability to learn quickly • Good clear communication • Attention to detail and quality • Having a positive mental attitude within the workplace • Good attendance and punctuality • Stay Productive and on task • Accurate record keeping • Ability to complete tasks by required deadlines • Willingness to offer help where needed Equipment / PPE required to start • 35’ standard Tape Measure • Jeans or Durable Pants (No shorts during work hours) • Appropriate clothing is required when working outdoors or in the shop • Steel toe or composite toe work boots Job Type: Full-time: • 10 hour shift, 7a-5:30p • 12 hour shift, 6a-6p Weekly day range: • Monday to Friday • Weekend availability is a plus Work setting: • Construction site • Welding & fabrication shop • Outdoor work Education: • High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: • Welding: 1 year (Preferred) Apply today! #1688CC

Job Summary: Supports the College Mission to serve students, employers, and the College community. In a part-time role, provides quality education and job skill training in a safe, clean, positive, and productive learning environment.
