As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and joining metal components using various welding techniques and tools. Your primary goal will be to ensure the quality and durability of products by maintaining high standards of precision and accuracy in welding operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed engineering specifications to determine welding requirements and procedures. • Prepare and set up welding equipment, including selecting the appropriate type and size of electrode or filler material based on the nature of the metal being welded. • Operate welding equipment, such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), or flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), to assemble and weld various metal parts and components. • Ensure all welds meet the specified tolerance, strength, and aesthetic requirements by performing quality checks and inspections throughout the welding process. • Monitor and adjust welding settings, including voltage, amperage, and heat levels, according to the metal being welded and the type of joint. • Clean, grind, and smooth welded surfaces to improve appearance and remove excess material or irregularities that may impact functionality or safety. • Ensure personal, team, and jobsite safety through a safe and organized work environment by adhering to welding safety guidelines, including wearing protective gear and ensuring proper ventilation. • Troubleshoot and resolve minor welding defects or issues during the fabrication process, such as distortion or warping, inadequate penetration, or weld discontinuities. • Collaborate with fellow welders, fabricators, and other team members to plan and coordinate production schedules and prioritize workload to meet project deadlines. • Document and maintain accurate records of welding tasks, including materials used, production costs, and time spent on each job. • Equipment inspections. • Welding panel • Operate boom and scissor lifts. • Maintain BZI certifications and Health and Safety rules. • Damage prevention to material, building, and equipment. • Ensure profitability through efficiency, safety, and personal growth. • Communicate and work professionally with teammates and other trades on the job. • Work well in a team environment. Requirements: • Proven work experience as a Welder or similar role • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, principles, and equipment operation • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications • Skilled in operating various welding tools and equipment, such as MIG, TIG, and ARC welding machines • Ability to work with a variety of metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel • Solid understanding of occupational safety and health standards (OSHA) and welding safety practices • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.- Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and aesthetically pleasing welds • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Good time management and organizational abilities. • Physical stamina and ability to work in various positions and environments (e.g., standing, crouching, confined spaces, extreme temperatures) • Prior welding skills preferred • Dual Shield and hard wire preferred • Must be reliable with strong work ethic • Able to work 40+ hours per week (weekends may be required) • Position Location: Ability to travel and work in various states • General knowledge of equipment and preventative maintenance • Safe, positive, and teamwork attitude required

Faculty Adjunct (Substitute) - Welding Technology

Job Summary: Supports the College Mission to serve students, employers, and the College community. In a part-time role, provides quality education and job skill training in a safe, clean, positive, and productive learning environment. Participate collaboratively and professionally with students, faculty, and staff to promote and improve the college community and its programs. Essential Functions: • Presents and supervises learning opportunities for students per the designated and approved course curriculum and assessments. • Promotes job readiness, encourages professionalism and good work habits, and assists students in seeking and finding employment. • Works collaboratively with other department personnel to meet College program and accreditation standards and requirements, including completion, placement, licensure, membership hours, headcount, certificates awarded, and retention (graduate completers). • May maintain student academic records, including attendance, module, and course sign-off as appropriate. • Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly training area by ensuring there are adequate supplies to support continuous instruction; monitoring responsible use of supplies and equipment; and requesting and maintaining equipment as appropriate. • Orients new students to classroom facilities, technology, and program/classroom performance and behavior expectations, procedures, and safety. • Works within the assigned program budget. • Builds and maintains relationships with industry partners. • May assist in the development and instruction of custom courses. • Ensures effective two-way communication at all levels of responsibility. • Participates in department and college meetings as appropriate. • Seeks always to promote a spirit of collegiality in dealings with college staff. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: To perform at a proficient level and to be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have: • Education: High School Diploma required. Welding program certificate preferred. • Certifications: • AWS Certified Welding credential preferred. • Preference will be given to CWI-certified applicants. • Experience: A minimum of three years of related industry experience. • Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check. Environmental Factors: Conventional Educational Environment. In some programs, employees may occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals and the hazards associated with their respective industry equipment.
