Position Summary We are seeking a Welder A to join our team. In this role, you will utilize safe practices, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and procedural requirements while interpreting weld procedure specifications and engineered drawings. Your primary focus will be to tack and weld structural components such as beams, columns, joists, frames, stairs, and railings. Key Responsibilities • Safety & Compliance: Identify, prevent, and correct potential safety hazards in accordance with Southwest Steel policies and procedures. Always maintain a clean and safe work area. • Material Preparation: Identify and prepare materials for welding based on SWS Quality Management System (QMS) specifications and engineered drawings. Utilize appropriate tools and measuring devices for accuracy. • Welding Operations: Perform welding on components and assemblies using GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW* processes, following Southwest Steel weld procedure specifications. • Cutting & Shaping: Use equipment such as chop saws, band saws, and oxy/fuel torches to cut workpieces. Heat, form, and dress metal parts using hand tools, torches, or arc welding equipment. • Quality Assurance: Achieve a pass rate of 98% or higher for all CJP (Complete Joint Penetration) and PJP (Partial Joint Penetration) weldments. • Material Handling: Move and position structural components using chain rigging, overhead cranes, jib cranes, and other material handling equipment. • Inspection & Alignment: Inspect equipment and structural components to ensure alignment with Southwest Steel processes and procedures. Qualifications Required: • Certification: Ability to pass 3G FCAW, 2G FCAW, and 2F D1.3 GMAW weld tests. (*4G D1.1 FCAW; 3F D1.6 FCAW; 4F D1.6 FCAW; 3G D1.6 GTAW; 2F GTAW). • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of oxy/fuel operations, welding processes, shop machinery, and repair procedures for welding discontinuities. • Welding Skills and Quality Control: Ability to identify weld discontinuities and apply basic repair procedures to ensure high-quality welds. Intermediate-level knowledge of welding techniques to meet industry standards and project specifications. • Technical Skills: Proficient in interpreting blueprints, tolerance for gaps, holes, distortion control, camber, sweep, connections, splices, and cord length. Ability to identify weld discontinuities and in-depth knowledge of repair processes. In-depth knowledge of weld procedure specifications and weld symbols. • Equipment Operation: In-depth knowledge and ability to safely operate overhead cranes and jib cranes. • Tooling: Possess all necessary tools to effectively perform welding and fabrication tasks. • Work Ethic: Ability to multi-task, demonstrate punctuality, and maintain a strong work ethic in a team environment. Preferred: • Certification: Ability to pass 4G D1.1 FCAW; 3F D1.6 FCAW; 4F D1.6 FCAW; 3G D1.6 GTAW; 2F GTAW weld tests preferred and will be required for further advancement within this job classification. Welder

GENERAL DUTIES • Sets up and operates equipment to weld parts of sheet metal according to blueprints or product specifications. • Able to weld 14g to 18g on sheet metal. • Tests and adjusts equipment relying on knowledge and 100% MIG welding skills and 80% TIG welding skills. • Reads prints, work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as quantity, dimensions and/or tolerances. • Reads welding symbols. • Align components using calipers, rulers, etc. and clamp pieces. • Performs periodic checks on output; measures completed parts to verify conformance to specifications such as but not limited to; squareness, heat penetration, and distortion of materials. • Uses measuring instruments at 100% accuracy relying on full working knowledge and experience. • Maintains high level of productivity and produces quality parts. • Operates and calibrates spot welding equipment according to various material thickness. • Performs daily and weekly cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks to maintain equipment performance and prevent machine downtime. • Works under minimal to no supervision. • Operates and calibrates stud welding equipment according to various stud sizes. • Identifies equipment, production and/or parts issues; troubleshoots issues with management and appropriate personnel. • Sets up programming for machines. Welder/Fabricator

Description ENTEK is seeking applications for a talented Welder/Fabricator to build quality metal components for our clients and join us on-site at our Henderson, Nevada location (relocation within 40 miles of Henderson is required). As a Welder/Fabricator, you will read and interpret engineering blueprints, fabricate metal components or structures, and perform quality checks on finished products. In this role, you will work with different welding techniques, such as TiG and MiG welding, to weld a variety of metals, such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, to create a range of parts and assembled equipment that meet the required specifications. You will also perform tube and pipe welding MS. You will be responsible for building simple and complex fabrications based on prints such as tanks, frames, and hoppers from sheet metal and plate. To ensure success as an ENTEK Welder/Fabricator, you should have advanced knowledge of industrial metalwork, a good eye for detail, and excellent mathematical skills. Ultimately, a top-class metal fabricator expertly constructs high-quality products to exact specifications. Individuals invited to interview for this role will be required to perform a weld test, which will include 2G and 3G positions on mild steel and stainless steel, using MIG, TIG, and fluxcore, on 14ga, 10ga, 3/16" and potentially on 3/8" and 1/2". Requirements Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or GED • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Welder/Fabricator • Experience and familiarity with standard welding tools and procedures, including MIG, TIG, and Fluxcore. • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints. • Strong knowledge of fabricating and constructing metal components to produce strong, clean welds. • Initiative to perform quality checks on completed products, double-check design specifications before commencing cutting work, and test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws. • Experience using various hand and power tools, calipers, and load-moving equipment (i.e., pallet jack, cranes, forklift, etc.). • Knowledge of proper handling of propane and pressurized gas cylinders. • Strong time-management skills. • Ability to self-manage behavior. • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English. • Satisfactory results from a pre-employment fit-for-duty screen and a drug screen. Preferred Qualifications • Trade school program certificate. • Basic computer skills. Working Environment The hours for this role are Monday- Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. This role is based in a manufacturing shop environment, which may require the employee to [work with or near equipment that uses water / high heat / mechanical means to create metal-based products. The incumbent will spend most of their 8-hour shifts on their feet. This role requires the incumbent to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Incumbents will complete tasks that require finger dexterity, reaching, handling of materials and tools/and equipment, talking, and hearing, as well as near and far sight, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The individual in this role may be required to kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, and/or balance. The role may occasionally expose the employee to fumes and airborne particles, as well as temporarily high temperatures and temporarily bright light. This role requires wearing eye and hearing protection while working, including a welding helmet or hood.
