Job Summary: Welder has the responsibility of welding and fabricating projects in a shop setting. Duties include cutting, fitting, tacking, welding, and grinding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Will also be assisting others in the fabrication process. Help maintain a clean and organized shop. Have an understanding of engineering drawings and welding symbols. Welder also inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, cleans, and maintains new and existing equipment and/or systems. It is essential for the Welder to be able to communicate with other team members and to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently. Any vocational training is strongly desired.· Those with an education and/or work-related credential from a secondary or post-secondary educational system will be given preferred interview status (Precision Exams, NOCTE, etc.)· 1 Year or more of welding/fabrication work experience at meets or exceeds performance expectations.· Frequent use of basic hand and measurement tools.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to and from work. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Ability to detect unsafe or hazardous conditions of equipment and work environment. • Ability to read and interpret all AWS basic weld symbols and typical welding symbols. • Comprehend a Bill of Material to determine necessary materials and requirements. • 1-2 years welding experience preferred. Standard work schedule will be from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Saturday. Fabricator job duties include cutting out, positioning, and piecing together structural metal parts, following precise instructions before welding. Must read and understand engineering specs supplied by manuals, diagrams, and computerized drafting programs. Fabricators also have to utilize many unique tools and precision measuring instruments. Overtime required depending on workload.
