Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled Welder familiar with ASME B31.3 process pipe welding and process system installations to modular skids. Both GTAW and GMAW welding processes will be used to assemble liquified natural gas (LNG), compressed natural gas (CNG), Liquid Hydrogen (LH2), and liquid oxygen (LOX) modular skids. They will also assemble vacuum insulated pipe (VIP) . Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. This position is located at our facility in North Las Vegas, NV. Responsibilities: • Stainless tube (1/4" – 1") installation. • Stainless and carbon steel threaded pipe (1/2" - 2"). • Stainless and carbon steel welded pipe per ASME B31.3. • Pipe support and process skid installation. • GTAW and GMAW in 6G position • Satisfy pre-employment and random drug screening tests. • Butt - Welding • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures • Read WPS and PQR and follow all variables to become a qualified ASME section IX welder. • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements) • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Qualifications: • At least 3 years welding, preferably in stainless steel and carbon steel piping/pressure vessels. • Ability to custom fit various piping, tubing, and clamps onto skid base. • Ability to perform weld repairs on different pipe sizes. • Ability to pass NDT on weld performed in 6G position. • Complete understanding of blueprints and ability to work from written and verbal instructions. • Demonstrated ability to perform the job in a highly capable manner with minimum supervision. • Thorough experience using a wide variety of hand tools and capable of fitting and setting up details required for fabricated assemblies. • Knowledge of basic computer operation. Physical Demands • Gloves required in assembly work. • Ear protection required at all times in high noise areas. • Ability to frequently lift objects that weigh up to 50 pounds. • May be asked to work with various chemicals and solvents. Work Environment This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely utilizes the operation of material handling equipment and various tools and machinery. What is Required? • Must have 5+ years experience with arc welding. • Must have 5+ years of field experience in pipeline utilities construction. • Must be able to pass welding test. • Must have valid Driver's License. • Thorough knowledge and understanding of how to read and interpret general and subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, as well as construction means, methods and materials • Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing • Thorough understanding of OSHA requirements and safe working practices • Ability to work with customers to develop and maintain long-term relationships • Computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly • Sitting or standing up to 8 hours in a day • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces • The ability to respond to dangerous situations • The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds • The ability to work in extreme weather • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
