As a Fabricator / Welder, you will perform welding and metal fabrication tasks to create fixtures and components for Hammerton’s luxury lighting products. You will use technical drawings, operate fabrication equipment, and ensure finished products meet aesthetic and quality standards. You’ll also assist in process improvements and help maintain a clean and safe workspace. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform basic MIG welding on mild steel and aluminum components. • Grind, finish, and inspect welds to meet Hammerton’s aesthetic and structural standards. • Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and cut-lists. • Operate fabrication equipment such as band saws, drill presses, press brakes, and rollers. • Assist in fitting and assembling fixture sub-components and jigs. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; follow all safety procedures including PPE usage. • Document work performed and communicate progress or issues to the Fabrication Supervisor. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or GED required. • 1-2 years of fabrication experience required. QUALIFICATIONS: • Be able to read shop drawings. • Attention to detail. • Ability to be on your feet for 8 hours or more. • Ability to constantly lift to 25 pounds. • Ability to work along with other team members. • Understanding deadlines and the importance of them. • Ability to MIG weld steel (aluminum MIG welding a plus) - training provided if needed. • Show on time and have reliable transportation. WORKING CONDITIONS: • This position works primarily in a Fabrication shop which includes high level of noise, welding flashes, grinding dust, and oils and lubricants. • This position requires the employees to have the ability to consistently lift up to 25 lbs. • All employees are required to participate in 5s activities that include keeping the shop as clean as possible.
