Traveling Construction Manager - Solar Energy

Company: Barton Malow Company Job Location: MI (Travel) Position: Construction Manager (Solar) REQ ID: 11463 POSITION SUMMARY Barton Malow Company is seeking a Construction Manager to join our renewables team on Solar and Wind projects throughout the state of Michigan and throughout the Great Lakes region. The Construction Manager is responsible for oversight of planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities. The Construction Manager will lead project engineers and superintendents to execute construction projects within budget and schedule per the contract documents. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversees the construction planning effort and development of Installation Work Packages & Inspection Test Plans • Directs and oversees the development of subcontractor’s scope of work, sequencing, coordination, scheduling, installation, and logistics related to projects • Monitors self-perform and subcontractor performance including productivity tracking and/or earned value • Ensures the relevant scopes of work are executed with strict adherence to the contract documents • Ensures the relevant scopes of work are started and completed with strict adherence to the construction schedule • Resolves construction conflicts, delays, and in-field issues • Supports project manager & project controller forecast self-perform productivity REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • Solar or Wind market experience preferred, commercial construction experience required • 5-7 years of relevant professional experience • Experience leading a team of construction staff, subcontractors, engineers/designers • Must be able to work as a team player, independently and learn quickly in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment • OSHA 30 Hour preferred • Proactive positive attitude with commitment to safety Barton Malow is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, height, weight or marital status. MI Certified Apprentice Electrician (Renewables, Solar)
