The Sheet Metal Foreman plays a crucial role for leading and supervising the sheet metal crew to ensure that sheet metal work, including roofing, cladding, flashing, and other metal components is performed accurately, efficiently, and safely according to project specifications and industry standards. This role involves day to day operations to lead, oversee, collaborate with stakeholders and develop team members, setting standards on directing and coordinating all activities of a project. The Foreman is instrumental to ensure seamless integration of sheet metal work into the overall construction process. Responsibilities: • Lead the creation of innovative and detailed work plans and schedules for sheet metal tasks, ensuring clear and effective communication with all stakeholders • Review project specifications, plans, and drawings to determine project requirements, proactively identifying potential bottlenecks and developing innovative solutions to address them • Drive collaboration with sales representatives, estimators, and operations management teams to verify the accuracy of project designs before work begins, ensuring excellence from the start • Partner with customers to ensure deliverables are met, maintaining schedule requirements and exceeding customer expectations • Inspire and manage all sheet metal crews, assigning teams to projects and tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring high-quality workmanship that sets industry standards • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and professionalism, while encouraging continuous improvement and skill development • Conduct dynamic and engaging team meetings to communicate project updates, safety protocols, and performance expectations, driving team alignment and motivation • Ensure all sheet metal work meets or exceeds industry standards and project specifications, setting the benchmark for quality in the industry • Perform rigorous inspections and quality control checks, promptly identifying and resolving any issues to maintain the highest standards of excellence • Champion strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety meetings and proactively addressing safety concerns to create a safe and productive work environment • Strategically manage the procurement and inventory of sheet metal materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring optimal resource use and minimizing waste • Drive cost-effectiveness and efficiency, continuously seeking opportunities to optimize processes and resource allocation • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials, building strong relationships to support project success • Identify and overcome challenges in sheet metal work with innovative and effective solutions, demonstrating strong problem-solving capabilities • Make informed and strategic decisions to keep projects on track, within budget, and on schedule, showcasing exceptional leadership and management skills • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates on project progress, while also taking responsibility for resolving issues on job sites and discussing solutions directly with customers • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date • Measure project performance using state-of-the-art systems, tools, and techniques, providing insights for continuous improvement • Create and manage project schedules, collaborating with the Project Manager to develop and complete punch lists or reports, ensuring no detail is overlooked • Compile detailed daily reports from project data, including photos, to provide customers with transparent and timely updates • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, communicating project updates and managing expectations to ensure stakeholder satisfaction • Review plans and specifications rigorously, ensuring all required scopes are executed to the highest standards • Conduct thorough site inspections to verify proper sheet metal installation methods, maintaining the integrity and quality of the work • Provide expert technical support and guidance to personnel as required, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of learning • Lead the project team with vision and motivation, building and driving team members to meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) • Ensure resource availability and optimal allocation, including overall staffing needs, to support project success • Ensuring that safety policies are strictly adhered to • Additional duties as needed Required: • Experience in sheet metal work, roofing, or related construction fields. • Proven experience in a supervisory role, managing field operations and crew members. • Strong understanding of sheet metal installation methods, construction processes, and industry standards. • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, Kahua). • Proficiency in Google, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). • The ability to work in different environmental conditions. • Strong leadership and communications skills. • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills. • Excellent customer service skills. • Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes. • Valid Driver's License.
