As a Sheet Metal Pre-Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting our Journeyman in the fabrication and installation of architectural sheet metal roofs and accessories. This position is based out of the Manitowoc area. Transportation is provided to and from the Jobsites. Training is provided on the job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · 90% of the job: Installation of architectural sheet metal roofing and wall components which comprises of, but not limited to: Coping, Fascia, Flashings/Trims, Gutters, Downspouts, Scuppers, Collector Boxes, Various Wall Panels, Various Standing Seam Roof Panels, and other custom sheet metal installations. · 10% of the job: Fabrication of architectural sheet metal products for installation using shears, manual fed auto-benders and some manual machining (see items above) · Most Installation work will occur on low-slope roofs at the perimeter/edge for copings, fascia, gutters, and some other flashings/trim. Installation will typically require body harnesses and Self-Retracting Lifelines. · Installation of standing seam roof panels will occur on roofs anywhere from a 1:12 Slope to a 12:12 Slope or Greater. Installation will typically require being harnesses and Self-Retracting Lifelines. · Installations may occur from aerial lifts (45’ to 150’) and/or scissor lifts · Organizing, Loading, and Unloading materials as a job site requires · Follow all safety policies and procedures · Near Perfect Attendance – this position typically is 50% of a team.
