You will apply the appropriate reliability tools and techniques (e.g., Bad Actor Program, FMEA, RCFA, RBI, RCA, etc.) to drive improvements, optimize costs, and improve asset effectiveness. As a Mechanical & Reliability Engineer, you create chemistry by... • Work with Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) Experts to maintain and drive progress along the site M&R Roadmap. • Develop and maintain Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Asset Integrity (AI), Structural Integrity, and Corrosion Assessment programs; coordinate Risk-Based Inspections (RBI) and replacement of relief valves and flexible hoses. • Develop and maintain the Critical Equipment List and Critical Spares Inventory; collaborate with site Engineers on Equipment Care Strategies (ECS). • Lead the Bad Actor Program by reviewing work orders, analyzing Asset Effectiveness (AE) data, and implementing action plans to improve equipment reliability. • Lead Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) for complex or recurring equipment issues. • Lead the Precision and Preventative Maintenance Program, including vibration analysis, laser alignment, balancing, thermal imaging, and ultrasonic inspections; improve existing programs and implement new ones. • Participate in site Hazard Assessments (BHA) as the reliability expert and coordinate with off-site experts to resolve material of construction and chemical compatibility issues. If you... • Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering with over five years of experience as a Maintenance or Reliability Engineer in a chemical manufacturing environment. • Demonstrate experience with formal reliability programs such as RCM, including developing, reviewing, and implementing strategic preventive and predictive maintenance procedures. • Have thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment design and a strong understanding of maintenance and reliability practices for process equipment such as pumps, piping, pressure vessels, storage tanks, relief devices, compressors, and boilers. • Be familiar with technical engineering standards, including pipe specifications, and be able to read and interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings, and vendor documentation. • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications. • Be capable of performing physical tasks, including repeated lifting and transferring of 50 lb sacks. Job Summary Responsible for the repair and maintenance of plumbing, HVAC equipment, life safety equipment, pumps, exhaust fans, pneumatic tube systems, building automation, medical gas systems, electrical equipment, and nurse call systems. Be the difference. • Responsible for performing both unscheduled and preventive maintenance-related mechanical repairs to include packaged A/C and heating equipment, air handling units, pneumatically controlled thermostat systems, boilers, chillers, generators, pneumatic tube systems, variable air volume boxes, and other mechanical and electrical equipment comprising the hospital’s utility system. • Maintains assigned equipment in a safe and orderly manner and responds to emergency calls. Performs PM duties to all assigned equipment and enters information into an appropriate work order system. • Responsible for performing required testing of backup generator systems, boilers, and chillers. Must be proficient in automatic transfer switch technology and the maintenance of both transfer switches and generators. • Responds to emergency calls and assists qualified technicians and other trained professionals on medical gas/vacuum leaks, power outages, HVAC, plumbing, fire response, etc. Must demonstrate proficiency in all mechanical-related tasks to participate in the call-back program. • Responsible for ensuring that DPH and Joint Commission standards are followed. • Performs other duties as assigned.
