Responsibilities: • Performs construction engineering technician and inspection services primarily involving concrete testing, rebar inspection, and other building materials for W/WW plant construction projects and overseeing utility location, digging, and water main installations/connections and repairs for municipal clients. • Responsible for testing, inspecting, and reporting on specific aspects of construction works in progress, such as concrete pours, rebar placement, utility location, vertical and horizontal digging, as examples. • Performs inspections for construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and/or proposals for construction work. • Notify the Contractor or the Project Engineer of non-conforming work. • May be responsible for inspection and sampling of construction materials. • Performs computations with formulas, plots data, and draws simple curves and graphs. • Assists Engineers in field during soil and materials investigations. • Ensures that job site tests/observations, including quality control, quality assurance, and verifications are performed in accordance with the standard test/observation methods, project specifications and other contract documents. • Prepares and maintains project records and reports.
