Construction Foreman

The Construction Foreman should be skilled in both managing people and projects. This role will be pivotal in building and growing the new department for in-house telecommunication construction projects. Individual works with the crew members and Director of Construction to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Construction Foreman Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: • Assisting in building out both underground and aerial aspects of the fiber network, which requires the quality to be held to the strictest of standards. Supervising in-house resources • Provide feedback based on information received and knowledge of industry standards and experience • Working knowledge in underground utility construction, including conduit construction, knowledge of Outside Plant Safety and Procedures, working knowledge of engineering work prints, and the ability to understand and interpret construction documents as applicable • Responsible for managing timelines and ensuring the schedule is maintained • Ensure that resources are available for the start of construction, splicing, and clean-up • Complete construction worksheets every morning and ensure their accuracy • Track daily production for crew and ensure to achieve schedule demands at all times • Track crew time and fill out the appropriate paperwork to ensure accuracy • Making sure that specifications are being met and standards are being followed for both construction and safety • Ensure that the crew has safety vests, cones, truck signs, hard hats, and any other required safety gear. Safety is very important, and our crew must maintain a professional appearance • Ensure that the crew has appropriate tools and equipment on-site at all times • Ability to engage with the customer/client, and establish a cohesive relationship • Ability to listen to customer’s needs and propose solutions to help resolve their issues • Ability to interface with property owners in an appropriate manner to ensure their concerns are heard • Be able to communicate internally and externally the technical aspects of the project in a clear and concise way Fiber Construction Crew Foreman Requirements: • 5+ years’ experience as a Foreman in the utility/construction industry • Driver's License required, CDL preferred • Experience in scheduling projects and reporting project status • Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to clearly explain issues to contractors and fellow employees • Strong attention to detail, ability to meet strict deadlines and good time management skills • Must be able to operate all equipment necessary to complete tasks assigned to the crew Benefits: • Health, Dental, Vision and Basic Life/AD&D Insurance • Long-Term Disability Insurance • A 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan Position Specifics: • Hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. • Guaranteed at least 40 hours a week the entire year • On call and overtime will be scheduled as needed • This work requires frequent walking, driving, pushing, pulling and lifting of moderate objects throughout the workday and, in limited cases, heavy objects.
