What You’ll Do: The Construction Manager 1 is responsible for providing technical expertise in coordinating all field activities related to the construction of new homes per the Century Complete standards and processes. Maintain construction schedules, job site safety, erosion and sediment control standards, quality control, variance budgets, and customer satisfaction throughout the construction process. Your Key Responsibilities Include: • Maintain and coordinate construction schedules for homes in multiple neighborhoods that meet or exceed Century Complete goals. • Communicate regularly with customers and complete customer orientations throughout the construction process. Construction Site Manager

SUMMARY OF ROLE: The Construction Site Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all functional areas directly related to the on-site project activities from the pre-construction phase to in-service and project closeout. This person will support and report to the Project Manager and will work with other groups within GridLiance, such as Operations, Accounting/Finance and Public Relations. Prior to construction commencing, the Construction Site manager may be involved in planning, permitting and scheduling activities in preparation for mobilization of the construction contractors. The Construction Site Manager will be responsible for managing communications between all parties involved in the on-site activities of the project and will deal with inquiries and communication with the public, which may include interacting with utility partners, engineers, contractors, material vendors, permitting authorities and city and county inspectors. S(he) will be responsible for managing the construction project in the field ensuring that projects are constructed safely in compliance with the technical specifications, on schedule and within budget. Responsibilities include managing delays and problems encountered on-site during the construction phase, maintaining excellent records to support problem resolution, minimizing change orders and claims. This position will manage quality control and the inspection of work, which may include direct inspection or the management of other technical inspectors. RESPONSIBILITIES • Drive project performance through strong leadership and compliance with contracts • Develop and maintain relationships with all external parties involved in construction, commissioning / testing phases of the project. • Understand construction, engineering and other contracts and ensure full compliance with the terms and conditions of these contracts by contracting parties. • Oversee and manage (where required) the activities of contractors and subcontractors as required by the contractual terms and conditions. • Monitor construction schedules and delivery dates for construction activities and manage / coordinate work as defined in the contractual terms and conditions to minimize project delays • Review and comment on health and safety programs provided by contractors and consultants working on site. • Support contractor's compliance with their own safety policies, practices and procedures to assure safe working environments at the site. • Ensure that GridLiance employees comply with safety requirements when visiting construction sites. • Collect safety data as required from all contractors and consultants working on site. • Coordinate with Operations as required during construction activities, outage coordination and commissioning / testing. • Review project execution plans provided by contractors that detail how the project will be developed and executed. Provide constructive feedback. Ensure that execution plans are followed. • Review and comment on QA/QC procedures from contractors and ensure compliance through inspection and documentation • Responsible for producing or ensuring that others produce project daily, weekly and monthly reports on a timely basis to the required level of detail and quality. • Lead effective project meetings and organize meetings when required to resolve specific issues. Document outcomes in minutes and action item lists • Ensure that site records are maintained and stored in hard copy and/or document control systems such as SharePoint • Manage the on-site construction management team if applicable • Lead or support project closeout • Assist in the capturing of lessons learned from projects to allow for continuous improvements in standard operating procedures REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred • 10 - 20 years of experience in construction management of electrical substations and transmission line construction • Extensive knowledge of electric distribution, transmission, and substation projects • OSHA 30 T&D certification. OSHA 30 acceptable. • Valid driver's license • Fully mobile and prepared to live on a full-time basis within daily travel distance of construction site • Ability to travel up to 100% • Thorough understanding of electrical substation and transmission construction and commissioning/testing in the utility industry • Full understanding of construction and other contracts as applicable to site activities • Full understands drawings, specifications, proposals, environment permits and contracts (construction, engineering, equipment and material) as it relates to the electrical transmission industry • Experience in using project schedule software, such as Microsoft Project and Primavera • Experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel to produce project reports and other documents • Experience in using electronic document management and sharing software • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management and third parties • Flexible and comfortable taking the lead and initiative to deliver results • Demonstrated ability to identify project risk, including reducing or eliminating risk • Positive and team-oriented attitude • Leadership experience collaborating with senior leaders • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Ability to sit for long periods of time • Use of computer screens for long periods of time • Ability to work in an environment that may require lifting of 40+ pounds
